Oxytocin Squad Volunteer Enquiry Form
Thank you for your interest in joining the Oxytocin Squad (the awesomely practical volunteer arm of the Oxytocin Trust) who do small actions to spread the love amongst those who are birthing and those who care for them.
There are "?" symbols throughout this form - when you click on them they give you helpful info about how to respond.
The Oxytocin Squad is made up of volunteers who undertake practical acts of kindness to improve maternity experiences for families and to boost morale for the maternity staff who support them. Some activities we do/have done are:
- regularly dropping off baking for busy staff at Hutt Hospital or other birthing places, and for local midwifery groups and Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs) in the community
- organising deliveries of food, coffee, peanut butter and other goodies to staff from supportive local businesses
- collecting and delivery of donor breastmilk from homes to Hutt Hospital
- collecting donations of newborn clothing/other items to make packs for babies in need
- decorating Hutt Maternity ward for Christmas
- organising celebrations for International Day of the Midwife
- helping staff at Hutt Hospital to make their maternity clinic spaces more welcoming for whānau
Completing this registration form doesn't oblige you to carry out any volunteer work but does allow us to keep in touch with you so you are aware of any volunteer opportunities you might like to take up.
